Chris Wright

Chris as been a professional musician since the age of 16, playing in various Theatre shows in and around South Wales including ‘Little Shop of Horrors’, ‘Bugsy Malone’ and ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’.

In 2000 he graduated from an intensive year at the prestigious college of Contemporary Music in London achieving the accolade of ‘Most Outstanding Guitarist of the Year’. Chris then had the opportunity, under the expert guidance of famous guitarists such as Guthrie Govan, Dave Kilminster and Andy Jones, to play alongside members of The Red Hot Chilli peppers, members of Alice Cooper’s band, Skunk Anansie and Asia.

Since then, Chris has been one of the most sought after session players in the country, and is regularly has the pleasure of performing in some of the countries most prestigious venues; The London Astoria, Cardiff Millennium Stadium and the legendary Royal Albert Hall among them.

Chris has appeared on television for the BBC, S4C and MTV as well as BBC Radio, and still Vinds time to tour the world with many different performing artists, notably with the West End Show ‘Abba Mania’, which played to thousands of fans across Singapore and Australia.

Chris began playing at age 14 and started as a professional musician at 16. He spent 4 years playing in various live bands, but mainly guitar player in South Wales Theatre shows, including Little Shop of Horrors, Bugsy Malone and Josephs Technicolor Dream Coat.

In the year 2000 he spent an intensive year at the prestigious college of Contemporary Music in London. At the ACM he came under the expert guidance of world-renowned session players Guthrie Govan, Dave Kilminster, Pete Callard and Andy Jones. Whilst at the Academy Chris has the opportunity to play alongside Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, members of Alice Cooper, Skunk Anansie and Asia to name but a few. At graduation Chris was awarded ‘Most Outstanding Guitarist of the Year’.

Since graduating from the ACM Chris has been a busy session and liver player/ singer. He’s had the pleasure of performing at some great venues from the London Astoria to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff alongside Shirley Bassey and Michael Ball for the 1999 Rugby World Cup, to the Royal Albert Hall! Chris has appeared on BBC TV, S4C, BBC Radio and MTV with band iPOP who regularly tour the Middle East and Europe.

He has also recently been on tour with the West End show Abba Mania, playing to thousands of Abba fans in Singapore, Australia and New Caledonia. When he isn’t busy touring he can be found in the studio writing and recording his own music.
